Respect, self-discipline, honesty and integrity, words usually associated with martial arts advertising, blurb and sales pitch - noble sentiments, but in most instances divorced from reality.
Are we really going to kid ourselves that a child with behavioural problems at home, in school or at play will miraculously be cured of all these ills by martial arts training?
It could happen, it has happened, but generally there is no guarantee. There is or no point in ruling a martial arts class with a rod of iron if the basic values of acceptable behaviour are not endorsed or encouraged elsewhere.
This is why ACS Martial Arts classes encourage and endorse values like discipline, honesty and respect without actually taking the credit for improved behaviour.
Behavioural changes and improvements are are a joint investment involving the home, school, clubs and peer interaction, this is why we've launched the BEST initiative designed to back up and emphasise the values we know that you as parents expect, we as coaches deserve, and children themselves hopefully will come to understand.
The BEST initiative offers:
- A non-political, no-nonsense, pressure free training environment
- Students can learn at their own pace
- Support for parents in connection with their child's academic schoolwork
- To listen and help with any concerns regarding behaviour or peer pressure
- To celebrate your child's academic successes
- Parental support with any initiatives to help those children who need additional encouragement both in and out of school
- Extra support for your child in any school related matter by letter, phone or in person
We believe that we are the only martial arts business to publicly declare this level of support for you and your children - some martial arts clubs believe and advertise that they are the best, subjective, and a matter of opinion, only we offer the B.E.S.T.
